"Health is wealth... Peace of mind is happiness... Yoga shows the way!"- Swami Sivananda
Kristina is a certified Raja-Hatha Ashtanga yoga teacher. Kristina began practicing yoga in December 2013; her practice helped her to understand and embrace a period of major change and transformation in her life. In June 2016, she graduated from the Ahimsa Yoga School-Dharma Yoga Affiliate in Ithaca, New York. Kristina is registered through the Yoga Alliance (200hr RYT). She is also a certified Reiki practitioner through the Long Island Healing Arts Center and Healing Harmonics. Kristina's purpose in guiding others through yoga is to create a safe, sacred space for others to explore the meaning of yoga for ones self. She guides students on a meditative journey and encourages students to listen to their bodies, to allow their bodies to flow organically, and guides a peaceful but powerful practice with an emphasis on breath control, concentration and meditation.
Kristina is a bhakti yogini: a devoted and loving student... of Mother Nature. While studying to earn a degree in Environmental Studies and Health & Wellness at Binghamton University, Kristina realized that many of the problems and threats to the natural world have been born of feelings and perceptions of separation from nature. She understood that disconnection or separation from nature, and from the purpose of one's own life, contributes to dis-ease in the mind and the body. She believes the earnest study and practice of yoga removes a "veil of separation" from the mind and awakens the individual to understanding not only the connection of mind-body-spirit, but of our connection to others, to our communities, to our natural world, and all of life.
Kristina began formally teaching yoga classes in June 2016. She began offering donation-based classes in Binghamton, five times a week, in parks and at the Genome Collective temple. Kristina posted flyers door-to-door and established her facebook group "Honey Bean ~ CommUnity Yoga" to advertise her donation-based classes with the vision that yoga would be more accessible to all people, in hopes of supporting radiant health and community. At this time, Kristina was also hired as a Group Fitness instructor at the Binghamton University Campus Recreation Center.
By Fall 2016, Kristina better established her practice as an independent contractor, by reaching out to Handprints Massage Studio in Owego and offering a "Beginner's Series", and the Body Lab Studio in Endicott. She also was hired at Life Fitness of the Southern Tier in Binghamton.
Kristina's latest endeavor is to complete a Prenatal Yoga teacher training in February 2017 through NYC's Prenatal Yoga Center,
